Becoming a Provider

The Council is currently accepting seasoned therapists into our network for counseling gambling addiction.  We are especially seeking clinicians who practice in high need and underserved areas of Georgia. Basic requirements are:

-Licensed as an LPC, LMFT, LCSW or Psychologist in Georgia.
-Commitment to complete a 30 hour online course in basic competency in gambling counseling in an allotted time frame. The GCPG is providing a limited number of full scholarships and the course is CEU approved for all except psychologists.
-Commitment to meeting supervised hours requirements and become a National Certified Gambling Counselor.
-A minimum of 5 years post licensure experience in inpatient or outpatient addiction settings.
-Proof of liability insurance and malpractice history.
-Accept many of the major health insurance plans.
-Ability to accept credit cards.
-initiate counseling services within 7 days of initial client contact.

Counseling gambling addiction can be a viable specialty for your practice: upon approval of your application and the 60 hour online training, you will be placed into the nationally advertised 800-GAMBLER database. This gambling helpline is advertised nationally in casinos and other gaming industry locations.
