The Georgia Council on Problem Gambling has partnered with Birches Health Provider Training and Gambling Treatment to provide the necessary 30 hour curriculum to be placed on the GCPG provider list of licensed therapists. Birches Health is a high quality and internationally-approved IGCCB training and treatment organization.
Completion of this training will enable you to be placed on the provider list and accept referrals to provide telemental health gambling treatment to clients located in any state you are licensed. Birches Health can also fast-track to credentialing with insurance panels.
The Georgia Council on Problem Gambling makes the Approved Birches Health 30 Hour Training Program available to counselors free of charge as part of our initiative to develop a network of providers statewide.
You can also receive your ICGC-1 and ICGC-2 certification with Board Approved Clinical Supervisors (IGCCB BACC) who have years of clinical experience working with problem gamblers. Gain insights from highly skilled experienced providers on how to identify at-risk behaviors, understand gambling disorder and other co-occurring disorders, and craft effective treatment plans and clinical interventions to achieve desired clinical outcomes.
Eligible providers must be state licensed with no disciplinary actions and be practicing at a minimum master’s level.
In addition, a minimum of 30 hours of IGCCB-approved gambling specific training or education must be completed with appropriate supporting documentation as defined by the IGCCB. A master’s degree or equivalent (as assessed by the IGCCB) in a behavioral health field (e.g., license or certificate in psychology, chemical dependency, counseling, social work, peer counseling, etc.) to meet the behavioral education requirement for certification.
