What Participants Will Learn:

At the Council’s urging, Governor Nathan Deal has proclaimed March “Problem Gambling Awareness Month”. Join us for an information packed 5 hour training event. The program will cover gambling addiction, how it impacts Georgia, and the developments which led to problem gambling’s inclusion in DSM-V as an addictive disorder, “Gambling Disorder”. Techniques for screening and intervention for problem gambling will also be provided. Take advantage of this exciting opportunity to expand your clinical expertise in a specialty where there is increasing demand. Participants will also learn screening and assessment techniques for identifying the problem gambler. Register soon as seating is limited.

Reverend Roger Olsen, MEd, ACGC-III

As an ordained minister, Roger has over 30 years of counseling experience. He  has trained over 30 counselors in Alabama who meet the minimum educational  requirements towards becoming a National Certified Gambling Counselor. As a recovering gambling addict with over 20 years of sobriety, he is eager to assist with ensuring that programs adequately meet the needs of problem gamblers.
